As I look through these pattern books, which are over a hundred years old, I find lots of evidence of the effects of time, particularly on the paper. there are marks from glue where the fragments of cloth have fallen off. Sometimes the pattern from the cloth has given a ghost print on the opposite page. Edges of the pages have torn.
I'm thinking that these sketches might be the starting point for a textile work if I add some different patterns.
